Right on the beach, this spot is a culinary paradise with amazing local eats! I adored the fresh salmon at the beachfront restaurant next door. The room was basic yet comfy, with a good AC. Loved the chill vibes from the staff who helped arrange our transfers. Just a five-minute stroll to various restaurants like Bamboo Restaurant and the vibrant Bondi Aussie Bar.

Lamai is a compact town with a nice beach and it has lots of bars and restaurants, but not too 'full-on' like Chaweng around in the next bay. Lamai Inn 99 is centrally placed and right on the beach. It has single room chalets in a garden setting, not too packed together. The staff are friendly and they take care of the rooms and the grounds. I was not troubled by noise, but I guess that is down to your neighbours at the time. The beach is kept clean by the resorts, although there were big breakers when I stayed; definitely not for children, but there is a swimming pool. I enjoyed being there and stayed an extra night.
As ever, you get what you pay for, and I thought the chalets to be competitively priced. The beds are fairly firm but I prefer that to a soft bed. The chalets are compact, and again, I don't mind that. The TV channels are mainly Thai language, but that is the normal package in less expensive hotels. All in all a good balance of facility against cost.

The AC unit in the room generated noises that were distracting and inconsistent. The pool's hydromassage feature was out of service, disappointing, and the shower struggled to maintain stable temperatures, swinging between too hot and cold during use. The bedding was hard, presenting an issue for comfort, and the lighting in the room felt too harsh, lacking any warm ambiance.

What a letdown, the room was dark and outdated, and to make matters worse, the shower was broken! Absolutely unforgivable. If only they had upgraded me to a better room, perhaps I could've almost given a good review, but here we are. No complimentary gesture, just a sad little stay, overall disappointing.

The staff were excellent and helped me out whenever I asked them to. It was very serene and quiet. Free water in the minibar.
No dvd player and I had to retune the tv so I had some english channels to watch and even then no movie channel.

The beach was lovely, just steps away, and we loved the spacious room for our family. The location is convenient for exploring local eateries. Plus, the air conditioning worked wonderfully.
In my wife's opinion, the pool area could use some improvements for better family enjoyment.
